TOBACCO AGING WOOD:

In the early Colonial & Settlers days men chewed a lot of tobacco. They would spit their chew right onto the floor in the salons & dance halls, which was swept out the next day or several days later....This is what is responsible for the beautiful wood plank floors colored to perfection with tobacco chew!
Here is how to acheve that look without chewing & spitting tobacco juice..

Chew Tobacco (Large pack-any brand)
Warm Water
Pure Bee's Wax & a Soft Rag
Any wood that has not been painted or stained.

Mix tobacco with enough warm water to make a mushy mess. Get a big glob in your gloved hand, smear onto the wood rubbing with your hands.
Let mixture sit on wood overnight....Using a brush or rag, rub off tobacco chew.
Check color, repeat if you want a darker stain.
When color is perfect, melt beeswax in a pot. Let cool to where you can touch it. Rub into wood with a soft rag. Let dry 1-2 days...Enjoy this wood primitive you just created.

ALL NATURAL WOOD POLISH:

1 Pound Pure Beeswax
1/4 Cup Olive Oil
1/4 Cup Lemon juice
1/4 Cup Grape Seed Oil
Double Boiler
Hand Mixer

Melt the oils and beeswax in a double boiler over medium heat....when melted let cool until it becomes cloudy and thick...Using a stick Handmixer, whip the beeswax and oil mixture until a thick paste....add in lemon juice and whip appx 5 minutes
Put into a lidded container..Use it to polish any wood...Buff and polish until the oils are well worked into the wood. Not only does it clean it, but nourishes and polishes the wood as well..Great for hardwood floors and furniture...It is all natural and safe for us...
This polish has a shelf life of six months to a year.
